Vessel Collision Monitoring for Vulnerable Bridges

The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge cost 6 lives and an estimated $5 Billion. As part of the investigation, NTSB flagged 68 bridges across the U.S. that are potentially vulnerable to vessel collision and recommended vessel collision monitoring systems.

Roebling Labs has responded with a working prototype vessel collision monitoring system available on our website now (roeblinglabs.com).

Roebling Labs assigns threat levels to AIS-equipped vessels by combining real-time transponder tracking, trajectory forecasting, and AASHTO impact analysis.

If you work with one of the 30 owner agencies with a vulnerable bridge, I'd like to hear from you. We are offering pilot deployments at no cost during the validation period.
